1. What is Swiss Fare Check?

It is an independent Swiss travel-planning and transport-cost comparison site. It is not an official seller or booking service.

2. How are the three tools different?

• Route planner: suggests itineraries from your duration, season and travel style.
• Pass comparison: compares candidates for routes you have chosen using planning reference fares.
• Manual calculator: uses live fares that you check with SBB and official operators and enter yourself.

3. Is this an official SBB or Swiss government website?

No. It is not affiliated with SBB, Swiss Travel System, Jungfrau Railways or any government authority.

4. Are results guaranteed to be accurate?

No. Automatic recommendations use stored planning fares and rules rather than live prices. Manual results depend on your inputs and the built-in rules. Recheck everything with official sources before purchase.

5. Which main options are compared?

The site focuses on Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Travel Pass Flex, Swiss Half Fare Card, Jungfrau VIP Pass and individual tickets. It does not include every regional pass or promotion.

7. Why enter fares in the manual calculator?

Fares vary by date, class, operator, season, promotion and reservation conditions. Entering the official fare for your own travel date gives the most useful manual comparison.

8. What are free and discounted routes?

A free route is calculated at CHF 0 under the selected pass rule. A discounted route applies a discount to an entered or reference fare. The operator's official validity map always takes priority.

9. Who is eligible for a Swiss Family Card?

Under current SBB guidance, a parent resident outside Switzerland and Liechtenstein can receive it free when purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass/Flex or Swiss Half Fare Card and adding their own child aged 6 to under 16. A parent using a Half Fare Card also needs a valid ticket. Check ID, accompaniment and validity conditions before travel.

10. Why separate children and infants?

Rules for children under 6 and those aged 6 to under 16 may differ by product and operator. The site's age groups are for comparison; official rules take priority.

11. Where are my inputs stored?

Recent state is stored only in your browser's local storage. The current site code does not transmit calculator inputs to the operator. Clear this site's browser data to reset it.

12. Does the site use analytics or advertising cookies?

Yes. From August 6, 2026, Google Analytics 4 measures visits and page use and Google AdSense serves advertising. Visits before that date were not collected and cannot be reconstructed. Where consent is required, Google's consent message lets you consent, refuse or manage options and later change them through the privacy-options link. Calculator-input contents are not sent as analytics or advertising events. See the Privacy Policy for details.

13. Do I need an account?

No. All tools work without registration.

14. Can I buy tickets here?

No. The site does not sell tickets or passes or process seat reservations.

15. How can I report a bug or wrong rule?

16. Can I support the site?

You may voluntarily support it using the Toss account displayed in the footer. Support is not a purchase and does not provide extra features or a guaranteed result.

17. Does it work on mobile?

Yes, although long route lists and manual fare entry may be easier on a wider screen.

18. Can I book based only on this result?

No. Verify official prices, validity maps, operating dates, reservations, supplements and operator rules before purchase.
